In early November I had the pleasure of attending the Holland House Cooking Wine live event in Boston. I got to cook with other bloggers and learn all about the bold flavors of Holland House Cooking Wines leading into the holiday season. I’m proud to be teaming up with them for this post.
I took off my coat, introduced myself, and instantly felt at home. What a gorgeous day at the Holland House Holiday Live Event. The foliage was on fire, and the Holland House Cooking Wines helped add bold flavors to holiday classics – giving them a new spin. I’m NOT a brownies person, but I am after experiencing them with Holland House Marsala Cooking Wine! YUM.

I tried them at the event so you have my word that all three recipes are AWESOME! I even had my hand in making Marsala Whipped Sweet Potatoes.
Three Recipes!
Before the event, I wouldn’t even consider myself much of a sweet potatoes fan, but something about partnering up with new friends and stirring in those flavors? Now I’m a believer. We used Holland House Marsala Cooking Wine – which gave that well-rounded, sweet-wine flavor. There aren’t a lot of ingredients in this recipe (check it out on the new Holland House website), but just pure flavor. There’s an option to add whipping cream and that’s what I’d do at home without a doubt.
I also wanted to share two other recipes that we cooked. Sherry Triple Berry Cranberry Sauce and Marsala and Dark Chocolate Malted Milk Brownies. Like I said – previously not much of a brownies fan. I’ve been changed. They were SO gooey, but not greasy. They weren’t dry or crumbly. Therefore they were just totally perfect with that hint of Marsala.

And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the pure joy of connecting with colleagues – some familiar and some not – over really delicious food. I couldn’t get the smile off my face for hours. I think I wore it all weekend too.
And of course I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m pretty sure we all had a blast. There was a warm and inviting vibe at the event, which meshed perfectly with the warm and inviting brand. Seriously, I’m so excited to knock my family’s socks off with these recipes!
