Take Me Back To The 80s... A Blast From The Past You Remember (2024)

You know I was browsing around on Amazon when I ran into something that totally reminded me of the 80s and early 90s. I was born in 1980 so the toys I remember playing with, the fashion I remember seeing, and the music well I still listen to some of it. Anyway, I wanted to share some of these awesome items you’ll remember if you were lucky enough to be around in the 80s! I agree that the fashion was a little crazy, but all in all it was a good times… I’m still not sure how we managed to make it.

You know without all these helmets, kneepads and jazz that our kids have to wear, but we did… and it’s because of these fine items we are perfectly normal right???? HA, anyway check them out it’s fun to take a trip down memory lane now and again.

Water Hoop Game Thingy

I don’t even know what this was called. We had plenty, and I remember my brother actually launched one at my best friends head, TWICE. I do not recommend it poor thing she had her head busted open not only once, but twice by a huge flying water game thingy. If you remember them the big ones were pretty heavy to be launching across the room because you were mad.

Care Bears

I don’t even know where to start. They were one of my favorites and still are. I’m not sure what is so cool about them, I think it’s their awesome Tummy Symbol which represents their unique personality. Which Care Bear was your favorite? Bedtime Bear, Birthday Bear, Cheer Bear, Friend Bear, Funshine Bear, Wish Bear, lol shall I go on? I really wish they would have thought of “cooler” names.

My Little Pony

The old school My Little Pony still one of my favorite toys, toons, movies, stuffed animals EVER! Yes have been a My Little Pony fan since the 80s. I say go Hasbro keep making My Little Pony. Which pony was your favorite? I’m pretty sure I can name them all, lol.

Cabbage Patch Dolls

I don’t really know what to say. Umm, I totally remember the Cabbage Patch Dolls and had plenty of friends that owned one. I was personally never a fan of dolls, they have always kind of crapped me out. I guess that’s why I like the Care Bears and My Little Pony toys.

Popples

WOW Popples was another one of my favorites. They were almost as awesome as Pillow Pets, lol. They had this pouch on their back that you could tuck them into. I really liked mine, to be honest I think I might have it somewhere in storage. Can you belive I found a picture of one? Want to know what is even more crazy? It’s for sale on amazon for $57! OM to the G! That’s craziness! Do people collect these?

Teddy Ruxpin

Yes, he’s totally 80s. I never was able to see all the cool stuff this bear could do. He was pretty expensive I think. I heard stories and watched commercials that said he could talk, blink and stuff. Back them it would have creeped me out anyway… If you thought this bear cost a pretty penny back then, you should check out the price for this bad boy on Amazon. Right now you can grab him for ONLY $449.99! I know right, I fell out of my chair too! Oh look he comes with a book now I understand why he is so much, it’s a book filled with magic!

Jelly Shoes

Nobody can talk about things from the 80s and not talk about the totally fashionable Jelly Shoes.. HA, they were anything but fashionable and I’m proud to say I NEVER wore a pair. They gave everyone I knew blisters and looked totally ridiculous, not to mention were the cause of REALLY stinky feet.

Alf

I am still not sure what he is, but he had his own TV show. WOW it’s a good thing this 18” Alf is affordable. Yup only $147.77! No wonder we buy our kids tablets and computer, it’s cheaper than the things we used to play with…

Simon

Who remembers late nights playing Simon? I bet you didn’t know that you can get Simon for only $539.99. WOW, you can buy your kid a laptop for cheaper than that. How prices have gone up right?

Rainbow Brite

Yes I’m guilty of thinking this doll was totally cool and watching her jazzy toons too!

Snoopy Sno Cone Maker

The Snoopy Sno Cone Maker! I totally still have mine, and my kids use it now. The only thing we are missing is snoopy and the shovel. So we use a spoon, and this other thingy to push down the ice. Yup, love my Snoopy Sno Cone Maker. It’s nice to know I can totally buy a new one for under $20 lol.

Tang

Yea you remember! What was the 80s and 90s without some Tang?

Atari

This was awesome, I loved playing pac Man and this corny Superman game. Oh, and we cannot forget about Asteroids the perfect way to waste the day away. Oh and yes I still have one, it works like a charm, and I still play it when I need to burn some time. I have become a pro at Pac Man.

Nintendo

The Good Old Nintendo Technology at it’s finest! Have one, all the games, and we still play it!

You have to remember this one. It had the antenna that pulled out about 47 feet and if you touched your nose, stood on one foot and ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich you could hear your neighbors conversation. Oh, come on I was the only one that did this was I?

MC Hammer Pants

I’m going to say THANK GOODNESS I WAS COUNTRY! I wore boots, Rockies or Wrangers… I’m so glad I was too young to care about the 80s fashion. The toys were more my thing, but I do remember these darn pants.
